Harness announces enterprise Harness GitOps

Any developer currently working with GitOps workflows can now use important software delivery tools such as continuous integration, feature flags, cost control, deployment verification, drift detection, application sync, and cluster reconciliation. Additionally, this release allows for enterprise features including Open Policy Agent-based governance in order to meet security requirements. 

Ahana unveils new security capabilities 

These new security features have been added to the Ahana Cloud for Presto managed service and include multi-user support for Presto and Ahana, fine grained access control for data lakes with deep Apache Ranger integration, and audit support for all access. These new capabilities come in addition to the one-click integration with AWS Lake Formation.

Notable new features include: 

• Multi-user support for Presto: Data platform admins can manage users without complex authentication files as well as add and remove users for their Presto clusters

AdaCore launches GNAT Dynamic Analysis Suite

Provider of software development and verification tools AdaCore recently launched a bundle of analysis, testing, verification, and code coverage technologies, GNAT Dynamic Analysis Suite. This is intended to help Ada developers build safe and secure software as well as meet security and quality procedures.

Benefits of this release include the GNATtest automated test- harness generator for Ada; the GNATcoverage tool for analyzing and reporting Ada and C program coverage; sound analysis, test, and verification evidence; and early access to emerging cybersecurity technologies.

Radware extends its cloud application security 

With this extension, Radware has added fully automated API discovery capabilities. GitHub Actions with GitHub CLI 
GitHub Actions are now available in a developer’s terminal with GitHub CLI, giving users insight into their workflow runs and files from the comfort of their local terminal with two new top-level commands, ‘gh run’ and ‘gh workflow.’

With the new ‘gh run list,’ users also receive an overview of all types of workflow runs whether they were triggered via a push, pull request, webhook or manual event.

‘Gh run watch’ also helps users stay on top of in-progress workflow runs, which can be used to either follow along as a workflow run executes or combine it with other tools that send alerts when a run is finished. 

Harness announces new integrations 
Harness announced new integrations with AWS GovCloud, Azure and GCP that provide DevOps and financial management teams with a CI/CD platform for multi-cloud deployments and enhanced cost visibility.

Windows Terminal Preview 1.8 
With the new preview version, the settings UI now ships inside the Windows Terminal Stable build. 

The settings UI also has a new font face dropdown option, new command line arguments and the base layer has been removed.

Developers now have the ability to name their terminal windows, which makes it easier to identify windows when using wt CLI arguments.

Harness highlighted a 2020 report from Flexera that revealed that 35% of cloud spending is wasted. Continuous Efficiency hopes to solve this by empowering developers to manage their own cloud costs, rather than this being handled by CFOs or finance teams. According to Harness, many of the existing cloud spend tools are aimed at CFOs and finance teams, not developers.

Continuous Efficiency provides a granular cost breakdown among categories like cloud provider, cloud service, application, microservice, and environments. It also provides information on Kubernetes clusters, namespaces, workloads, nodes, and pods. It provides details on what is utilized, idle, or unallocated, which enables developers and DevOps teams to quickly optimize their cloud spend.

It also doesn’t require developers to manually tag resources. It will auto-discover cloud cost for applications, microservices, environments, and clusters. 

The platform currently supports AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. It also supports Kubernetes, GKE, EKS, and Amazon ECS.
