Organizations adopted Agile and DevOps methodologies are moving more quickly, but are they working at peak efficiency? The way to determine that is to create a value stream.
Value streams help companies eliminate the waste in their production processes and ensure that what they are creating and delivering meets customer wants and needs, from original idea all the way through to product delivery.
Value stream is a term well understood in lean manufacturing, where it first came into vogue, but is now being adopted in software development. In software development, however, product requirements are constantly changing, so it is important to establish such things as flow, tight feedback loops for correcting defects or finding vulnerabilities.
Measuring your progress with key performance indicators is also critical to success in value stream management.
